  1. The Owner and President of UHI has more than 30 years experience in the helicopter flight training business and has been intimately involved in teaching in Robinson helicopters since they first came to market. He is the ultimate training professional and his knowledge and experience is unequaled in the flight training industry.
  2. We carefully mentor our instructors and submit them to regular flight checks and proficiency reviews. This helps them maintain and extend their instructional capabilities. Low time instructors are progressively signed off for more advanced training maneuvers as they gain experience. This approach reduces the risks in the training environment.
  3. UHI has a core group of senior management and  flight instructors that have been with the company for as many as 18 years. These skilled instructors ensure and maintain our standards at each of our school locations.
  4. The progress of all our students is monitored by our management staff, reviewing each individuals progress and ability with them regularly. (All student training records and schedules are computerized and accessible online to the student).
  5. OUR CONTRACTS:
BELL HELICOPTERS – As the only approved Bell training center in the United States, UHI has built a “Bell Center of Excellence” at our New Dallas location. Like Bell, our primary objective is to supply the Bell/UHI customers with quality training in a safe environment that includes, passing on our superior knowledge and skills with regards to all phases of flight.
EMBRY RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY (ERAU) – UHI is the only contracted provider of helicopter training for ERAU. We have been contracted to provide all of their helicopter courses regarding flight for nearly 10 years. We are currently contracted to provide these services until 2022.
  6. UHI also offers six unique courses for pilots who wish to increase their knowledge and skill; a High Altitude course (at Prescott & Provo locations), an Autorotation & Full Touchdown refresher training package (Prescott location), three Night Vision Goggles courses (Initial, Instructor, Currency), and a Turbine conversion course in the Robinson R66 and Bell 206.
  7. UHI operates a post graduate program for our flight instructors to ensure they continue their education after they become flight instructors at Universal Helicopters.
  8. UHI has close contacts with the major employers in our industry and our graduates have an excellent success rate in gaining employment.
  9. UHI has staff solely dedicated to flight training. They are not sidetracked or preoccupied by other activities as many other flight schools are (for example aerial photography, tours, charters, transportation, sightseeing, Part 135 operations, etc.). UHI conducts flight training under Part 61 and we are approved by the FAA to train under CFR 14 Part 141.
  10. UHI is approved to issue authorization letters for M-1 Foreign Student Visas. We have many years of experience training students from all continents around the world.
  11. UHI operates a fleet of the best training helicopters in the industry. The Robinson R22,  R44, R66 and the Bell 206B model helicopters are Universal Helicopters aircraft of choice creating a exceptional training platform. These helicopters are safe, reliable, and are some of the best selling helicopters in the world. There are other models of helicopters used for flight training and each has its own qualities but overall our aircraft surpass any other equipment on the market. Training in these models of aircraft will provide you with the most opportunities as a new flight instructor.
  12. UHI’s helicopter fleet is carefully maintained and monitored flight by flight, by our experienced maintenance and training personnel to ensure the highest standards and safest mechanical condition.
  13. Aviation Safety is our primary concern and drives all our decision making.
