This course is only available under Part 61, and is conducted in the Tecnam P2006T.

OUR MULTI-ENGINE INSTRUCTOR COURSE:

MULTI-ENGINE LAND CLASS INSTRUCTOR (CFI AMEL) COURSE:

Conducted under FAR Part 61 in a Tecnam P2006T

FAA REQUIRED MINIMUMS:

  • Must hold a current Commercial Pilot Certificate Multi-Engine Land Class (AMEL)
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must obtain 15 hours flight time as pilot-in-command in category and class sought (AMEL)
  • Pass the FAA-required knowledge test on the Fundamentals of Instructing as outlined in FAR Part 61.185(a)(1)
  • Pass the FAA-required knowledge test on Aeronautical Knowledge as outlined in FAR Part 61.185(a)(2)
  • Pass a practical test conducted by an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner

COURSE OUTLINE

  • If applicant already holds a Certified Flight Instructor Certificate (ASEL)
    • 17.5 hours ground training
    • 15 hours dual flight instruction
    • Pre/Post-flight briefings
  • If applicant does not hold a Certified Flight Instructor Certificate (ASEL)
    • 30 hours ground training
    • 25 hours dual flight instruction

EXPECTED DURATION OF TRAINING:

  • 7-14 days @ approximately 4.5 hours combined flight/ground/preflight/post-flight training

COMPLETION:

  • You will meet all eligibility requirements and gain all necessary experience, proficiency and endorsements to successfully pass your FAA-required knowledge and practical exams. Your Certified Flight Instructor Certificate (AMEL) will grant you all of the privileges of a Certified Flight Instructor of Multi-Engine Airplanes as outlined in FAR Part 61.193.

*Applicants who already hold a Certified Flight Instructor Certificate need not pass the FAA knowledge test on the Fundamentals of Instructing, but will receive and log ground training on Appendix G to Part 141(3)(b)(1).
