Universal Helicopters utilizes the Robinson R66 for turbine conversion courses. Training can be taken either as part of the Commercial
Course, or as a stand-alone Part 141 approved turbine conversion course.
The R66 was introduced in 2010 and as of mid 2014 there are over 500 operating in more than 30 countries around the world. Like
the R22 and R44, the R66 is a two bladed semi-rigid rotor system burning some 21 gallons/hour of Jet A1 fuel with a capacity of 75
gallons. The engine is a Rolls Royce RR300, the helicopter seats 5 and has a cruise speed of up to 125 knots.
